Estimator/ Sitework Utilities **Sign-On Bonus**

Job Description

Geotex Construction Services, Inc. an Employee-Owned Company is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. Geotex is a site development contractor serving Columbus and the surrounding area. We specialize in earthmoving, grading, underground utilities, and demolition for a wide range of projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review of project plans, specification and contract documents to establish scope of work and quantity takeoffs to establish total project costs
• Solicit quotes from subcontractors and vendors
• Attend scope meetings related to project
• Preparation of estimates for each phase of the design/build or budget process as well as for negotiated or competitive bids.
• Contribute to value engineering options to customers and owners to establish project value.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers.
• Collaborate with Project Manager during pre-bid and post-bid process regarding schedule, strategy, and buyout.
• Complete quantity surveys and takeoffs of work.
• Prepares and executes estimates for proposed change orders.
• Verifies licensing and any additional requirements.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 2+ years’ experience in an Estimator role
• Background of technical skills and understanding of excavation methods, contracts, and blueprints
• Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, vendors, and clients.
• Prior site work experience
• Estimating Software experience or exposure preferred
• Exceptional time management and customer relation skills
• High attention to detail
• Microsoft Office proficiency
• Knowledge of terminology within the work area
• Strong Communication skills
• Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace
• Team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Current/Valid driving record
• Must be18 or older
