Equipment Engineering Manager

Job Summary Statement:


As the Equipment Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our cutting-edge manufacturing equipment. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the Equipment Engineering team. You will develop innovative solutions to enhance overall operational efficiencies, implement maintenance procedures, and collaborate with various departments to streamline production processes. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and a dedication to ensuring equipment reliability to meet production targets.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lead a team of engineers in developing and executing a comprehensive equipment strategy that results in quality products, maximize OEE, meet site ramp requirements, equipment capacity improvements and new technology needs.
  • Drive equipment improvements to meet OEE, cycle time, productivity and quality targets
  • Lead and manage the equipment engineering team, providing mentoring, training, and support to ensure a high level of skill and efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of safety, 5S, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Drive continual improvement through OEE dashboards, failure analysis and peer engagement.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions through structured root cause problem solving, implementing corrective actions to minimize disruptions to production schedules.
  • Analyse equipment performance data to identify trends and proactively address potential issues.
  • Collaborate with all Operations team through the Waaree LEAN Operations program, ensuring the engineering team is setting the benchmark for Waaree sites.
  • Recruit lead, train and mentor a team of equipment engineers and technicians that will collaborate and drive operational excellence.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8 years experience in equipment management, in a manufacturing environment, preferably a highly automated equipment setting.
  • Strong knowledge of solar module manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Experience in introducing new products, equipment and processes into a fast paced, highly automated environment.
  • Detailed orientated, ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, flexibility to meet tight deadlines with a quality and safety mindset.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring equipment engineers and LEAN environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
