Environmental, Health, & Safety Manager

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Environmental, Safety, and Health (EHS) Manager is to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for all Etnyre International members throughout all facilities and locations. This includes driving a safety first culture and governing timely execution of locally driven EHS related training, recordkeeping, and reporting.

Major Duties:

  • Provide leadership and influence to drive a safety first mindset and culture by:
  • Reinforcing use of standard work instructions to include SFMEA's (Safety Failure Modes and Effects Analysis)
  • Developing and maintaining EHS programs and policies
  • Providing ongoing training and coaching to safety champions and operations management
  • Leveraging monthly EHS Council meetings with safety champions and operations management to reinforce empowerment and accountability of progress toward zero injuries in the workplace and cascade updated EHS programs and policies.
  • Conducting onsite risk assessments and partnering with operations management to develop mitigation actions
  • Actively engage with members in safety sensitive roles to reinforce safety culture and expectations
  • Providing support during incident investigations and ensuring appropriate interim and permanent corrective actions are in place
  • Provide governance over EHS related regulatory compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal requirements for all locations.
  • Collect and summarize incident findings and provide status reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

A bachelors degree in a safety related field (A.B.E.T. accreditation a plus). Professional designations or completed training certificates in various disciplines relating to the job function. An extensive working knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to manufacturing. The ability to influence others and generate engagement at all levels to drive a safety culture.

Physical Requirements:

Must have ability to effectively access all work areas in area of responsibility. Must have sufficient agility to observe all processes and product features including confined spaces and unusual accesses.

Additional Comments:

All work will be completed in a timely manner within established quality standards and consistent with Company policies, priorities and needs. The individual holding this position has a broad responsibility for carrying out the objectives of the Company including supporting all company policies, meeting goals, and working as a contributing team member.

Performance will be measured on the function/duties described in the position description, accomplishments during the review period, and the methods/work skills used to achieve the goals.
