LDG Search is conducting a professional search to identify an Engineering Manager with Nally and Hamilton Enterprises. The Engineering Manager is integral to the success of the company and responsible for the management of NHE’s engineering team.
Desired Job Experience and Expertise
Strong experience and knowledge of implementation:
Mining Permits
Land Leasing Reports
Coordinate Operations, Schedules, Tracks Progress, and Report Results
High-level experience in working with Kentucky Lawmakers and Regulatory Agencies
Ability to collaborate with team members to provide solutions
Strong history of leadership and management experience in Engineering and/or Mining
Knowledge and understanding of management and operational functions
Strong communication skills
Ability to recommend and implement new programs and initiatives when needed
Education & Experience
Qualified candidates preferably will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar but is not required. Qualified candidates will also have 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in Mining and Engineering.
REPORTS TO: Managing Partners
Engineering Manager
Summary: Lead, manage and oversee all aspects of the engineering staff and office. Participate in long range planning and mining strategy. Needs to have a good working relationship with State and Federal regulators, DNR permits, DNR enforcement, DOW, OSM, MSHA, US and Ky Fish and Wildlife, Army Corp of Eng. and EPA.
Job description:
Direct, coordinate and assist all engineers and staff.
Understanding of all aspects of the mine permitting process for both Surface and
Underground and able to give permitting guidance to NHE Engineering Staff and Consultants
on permits
Oversee Leasing agent, make decisions and giving guidance on leases.
Give guidance and make decisions on prospect drilling.
Former history of the previous and ongoing mining operations in our area
Doing coal reserve estimates and mining ratios
Being able communicate with others intelligently, be able draft letters and be able to read
people they encounter.
Good knowledge of the State and Federal mining regulations
Ability to layout a mine plan for various mining permits
Working relationship with the various major land holders in eastern KY such as KRP, NRP and
PennVa
Working relationship with various gas and oil companies in the area
Be able to meet with and communicate with the local government leaders
Not a “yes man”, will discuss with the NHE ownership any problems they might see or
opinions on the direction of permitting, prospecting, leasing and environmental violation
problems.
Very confident in their abilities and able to contact the right people to get answers and
guidance on things they are not familiar with
Being creative and thinking outside the box to solve problems
Able to make sound decisions on the fly
