The Engineering Manager will report to the VP of Operations and lead a 20-person team overseeing the engineering department, ensuring the efficient design, development, and implementation of the manufacturing processes and systems. The ideal candidate will plan, direct, and coordinate engineering activities. As the Engineering Manager, you will provide technical support related to products to internal and external customers. You will also assist with continuous product improvement and value-added engineering activities supporting corporate goals and objectives. As the Engineering Manager, you will continuously strive to provide professional and personal development of engineering services personnel.
Responsibilities
Improve the efficiency of the company's use of CAD/CAM and documentation systems.
Achieve exceptional productivity and quality performance by deploying data analytics and localizing operational KPI metrics.
Drive SIX SIGMA and CI initiatives across the organization to enhance process efficiency and product quality.
Maintain a high level of awareness to comply with OSHA, corporate safety, and manufacturing standards.
Lead and manage the engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute CapEx projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and budgetary constraints.
Implement lean manufacturing practices to optimize production processes and reduce waste.
Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards in all engineering activities.
Conduct one-to-one meetings and employee assessments of subordinates.
Participate in internal and external audits.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering roles; five or more years of experience in engineering management.
Proven track record of successfully managing engineering projects and teams.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong background in SIX SIGMA methodologies and Continuous Improvement (CI) techniques.
