Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls and wiring.
- Evaluate the cost effectiveness, reliability and safety of certain design models.
- Estimate time and cost to complete projects.
- Simulate and test system operation.
- Investigate and test vendors’ and competitors’ products.
Skills:
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
- Ability to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
- Previous experience with computer applications and design software (ex. Autocad Electrical, PLC coding, etc.) related to engineering field.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering desired / 2-4 years hands-on experience required.
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- 80% of time spent to perform maintenance tasks on existing tooling (updates for compliance, obsolescence, etc.).
- Complete differing levels of engineering work as it relates to complex electrical service tooling.
- Introduce new tooling solutions as required.
Reason/motivation for request:
- New position to provide additional support for current engineering needs.
* Primary workload is aligned to support of existing products.
* New product introduction is forecast to increase in coming years.
Typical task breakdown:
- Correction of existing tooling issues in multiple areas, can be updating an existing tool for compliance regulations, or for replacing existing tooling with replacement tooling.
- Creation of electrical tooling as requests come in from dealers or machine product groups.
Interaction with team:
- Daily interaction with engineering team lead to report project progress and for training.
- Daily interaction with other electrical engineering team members to understand process execution and best practices.
- Occasional interaction with other teams within Client and/or Suppliers as required for project work.
