As a part of our continued growth, we are looking for a dedicated and passionate Electric Vehicle Battery Lab Technician. As an Electric Vehicle Battery Lab Technician, you will be responsible for assisting our Electric Vehicle Remanufacturing Department by supporting the assembly and disassembly of Electric Vehicle batteries. You will also be responsible for the support of our engineers with multiple projects and tasks with reasonable prioritization. This person must have experience in the design and complete knowledge of EV battery packs. They also need to be very goal orientated and willing to work at a very fast pace while maintaining the quality and accuracy set forth in the job expectations. Job Summary: Provide production support to the Hybrid battery Remanufacturing group in improving operational performance.

Essential Job Duties:

  • General understanding of the electrical systems, current, voltage and knowledge on the batteries.
  • General mechanical skills, manual dexterity, and the ability to operate power and hand tools, and other types of machinery.
  • Disassemble and re-assemble (2-year experience) hybrid vehicle batteries in the assigned service area.
  • Ability to support engineers in multiple projects and tasks with reasonable prioritization.
  • Attention to detail with organization and follow-up skills.
  • Manage inventory efficiently using ERP system (Syteline)
  • Document installation procedures accurately for manufacturing process.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the assigned the HV lab.
  • A positive attitude and passion for learning and developing your skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written presentation, and communication skills.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience (Level of education AND years of experience are required):

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Experience in maintenance and calibration of lab equipment

Preferred Qualifications (Include qualifications that are desired but optional):

  • Assembly and disassembly of EV batteries.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of hybrid battery testing instrument suppliers
  • Good understanding of how production equipment works.
  • Ability to detect potential problems with machinery.
  • Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures (safety gear will be provided).
  • Good communication and teamwork.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records.
  • Problems encountered are simple, repetitive and generally solved by clear directions and procedures.
  • Follows standard procedures with no decision making involved.
  • Uses guidance/guidelines provide by supervisor/manager
  • Assignments/priorities provide by supervisor/manager
  • Essential Physical Demands/Work
  • Creativity in problem solving and willing to learn quickly while working efficiently to meet departmental goals.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment (i.e. lifting demands, travel requirements, etc.):

  • Office and shop environment
  • Lifts, pushed, pulls up to 100 lbs., average of 80 lbs., 40 lbs. frequently and 20 lbs. constantly.
