Organizes curriculum revision projects and develops, disseminates, and/or implements instructional programs and materials for general or special student populations; develops, implements, and manages global education opportunities for Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) teachers and students; acts as a liaison between FCPS schools/offices and outside businesses and organizations; serves as a resource for the region, school, and departmental staff.
Qualifications
Required
Master's degree.
Five (5) years of successful teaching experience related to specialty, some of which may have been in a supervisory or administrative role (such as, head teacher, department chair, etc.).
Postgraduate educational license with endorsement(s) designated as appropriate to the assignment.
Knowledge of FCPS curriculum, instructional goals, procedures, and practices in global education .
Knowledge of growth and development and learning theory in specialty.
Knowledge of lesson planning and instruction in grades K-12.
Knowledge of Project-Based Learning (PBLs).
Knowledge of curriculum integration.
Familiarity with international travel regulations.
Skill in assessment and evaluation of students with special needs or in special programs.
Skill in teaching adult learners.
Excellent human relations skills and ability to establish and maintain a successful cooperative working relationship with appropriate school communities, and school-based and central office staff.
Ability to manage curriculum development, in-service training, and related activities and provide a high level of instructional leadership for teachers and administrators.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
Coursework in international relations or world languages.
International travel and/or living experience.
Experience with World Languages education
Endorsement in administration and supervision preK-12.
