TITLE: Educational Diagnostician

QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree in Special Education or Related Field with experience conducting Educational Assessments.

REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education

JOB GOAL: Conduct Educational Assessments for special education eligibility/programming.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

  • Support IEP Teams at Need for Assessment IEP meetings with reviewing data to determine the following: whether assessments are warranted, what types of assessments are warranted and what disability is suspected.
  • Conduct Educational Assessments, to include assessing the student, interpreting the test results and writing the Educational Assessment Report, based on referrals that are received from the Director of Special Education.
  • Attend IEP Meetings to review the Educational Assessments that were completed with IEP Teams
  • Collaborate with administrators, teachers, related service providers, Special Education Central Office staff and others regarding specific students in the assessment process.
  • Provide professional development to staff as appropriate, to include supporting other special education teachers who are conducting Educational Assessments.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Special Education.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Non-exempt. Eleven month work year.
