Our well known retail client is looking for a contract (w2), hybrid, Editorial / Segment Manager to join their Hoboken office ASAP:


This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week onsite at our client’s Hoboken, NJ location.

Editorial / Segment Manager -

This position facilitates, manages and evolves the editorial point-of-view, ideation process, experience development and coordination of content creative for our client’s digital store (website, mobile, app, e-circular). Content includes a mix of inspiration and guided selling vehicles, such as articles, recipes, videos, buying guides, and other rich experiences that help answer the question: What information does the shopper need to make life better for her and her family?


As advocates, developers and drivers of our client’s editorial position, the Editorial/Segment Manager is responsible for partnering with Art Directors, Writers, Digital Store Operations and Segment Marketing to craft the big ideas that serve as foundational messaging for business verticals and marketing and seasonal campaigns. By aligning with the global editorial and marketing calendars, this role guides the creative teams in developing motivational storytelling techniques that help customers make more informed, more inspired purchase decisions. Other duties include: collaborating with Vertical and Creative teams on messaging hierarchy and wireframing to bring editorial themes to life; curating content for solutions pages; arranging strategic content partnerships to strengthen authority; and evaluating metrics and performance to determine when and where to use content that sells vs. content that tells.


Essential Functions:

  • Facilitates the development of content creative concepts and the subsequent execution of innovative online content in a variety of media formats to communicate, engage, interact and, ultimately, to drive sales for the brand.
  • Partners with senior management to continually manage and refine the editorial point-of-view for digital store pages, marketing campaigns and rich content experiences. Manages and leverages relationships with cross-functional partners, (Digital Store Operations, Marketing, Merchandising) to ensure initiatives are aligned with overall company calendars and strategies.
  • Promotes the continuous improvement of content integrations and executions.
  • Continually evaluates content performance and makes informed recommendations to increase content’s value to the customer experience.
  • Advocates for the development of new interactive tools and other integrated experiences in partnership with Sr.. Manager, Editorial/Segment Strategy.
  • Collaborates with Partnership Marketing to monetize content by recommending and executing native, content solutions for supplier sponsorship campaigns and branded experiences.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates.

  • Assigns tasks to associates that fit their skill levels and maximizes team performance. Uses people processes (performance management tool, etc.) to ensure effective associate performance.
  • Recruits and hires associates needed to meet business requirements.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or related field and 2 years experience in editorial content management or related field OR 5 years experience in editorial content management or related field.
  • Pets/Baby experience/knowledge a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
  • 2-3 years experience managing large editorial content campaigns in an online creative or related digital field.
  • 2 years experience working for or with creative agencies.
  • 1 year experience managing vendor contracts and relationships.
  • 1 year experience managing editorial content teams in a retail creative environment.
  • 2 years experience working with content management systems. 1 year experience managing website or online tool development.


The target hiring compensation range for this role is $41.57 to $46.19 hourly. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
