Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Leader of Tech Transformation to take the Global Product and Technology organization to the next level. This strategic role will be responsible for driving strategy, operations, transformation, and budget alignment between all teams under the Global Product and Technology umbrella and cross functionally and leading the project management team.
The Director of Technology will drive unified goals, optimize operational efficiency, and lead transformation initiatives to ensure our team remains at the forefront of technological advancements and adheres to industry best practices. This role is directly tied to the Iron Mountain enterprise wide Matterhorn transformation program, and is targeted towards accelerating growth in the Digital Business Unit in 2024 and 2025. As this program completes in 2025, all work of this function will be folded into ongoing operations of the Global Product and Technology in 2026 and beyond.
The role serves as the focal point for matters of collaboration, and the principle point of coordination with adjacent teams. Highly influential, this position requires significant collaboration with other cross functional senior leadership across the Digital team, other Iron Mountain business units, and corporate support groups.
Responsibilities:
Lead Global Product and Technology Transformation Office
Drive transformation initiatives such as technology standardization and simplification, product enablement across GPT globally
Drive process transformation and management of Financial Operations (FinOps) for the Global Product and Technology Organization. Including the creation, monitoring, and management of budgets and financial forecasts. This includes allocating resources to various departments or projects, predicting revenue and expenses, and making adjustments as needed to stay on track
Develop and execute a comprehensive long term and near term vision/strategy for people, process, and tools that align with the company's overall business objectives in alignment with key strategic Matterhorn growth transformation initiative
Communicate strategic goals and plans across business units to cut down silos and drive collaboration
Execute the strategy and transformation initiatives for Global product and technology
Provide guidance and insight on technology trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to shape the team's long-term vision on a continuous and consistent basis
Drive best practices to maintain a culture of engineering excellence: Streamline processes, workflows, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and speed-to-market
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the team's operational performance, and continually monitor and improve them
Proactively identify bottlenecks, pain points, and inefficiencies across the organization, and implement solutions to mitigate them
Lead change management initiatives to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization
Drive organizational agility by promoting adaptive practices, methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration
Champion the adoption of new tools, technologies, and practices to drive transformation and enhance the team's capabilities
Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages knowledge sharing and cross-functional learning
Experience & Qualifications:
Proven experience (8+ years) in Technology, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing strategy, operations, and transformation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive messages and present ideas to senior executives within a large and matrixed organization
Strong track record of successfully aligning software engineering efforts with business objectives and delivering impactful solutions
In-depth understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, DevOps) and their practical implementation
Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
Demonstrated experience in driving change management and transformation initiatives within a technology-driven environment
Proficiency in analyzing data and using metrics to drive operational improvements
Strong leadership and people management skills, with a passion for developing and mentoring teams
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality in all deliverables
Self-directed with an ability to influence and negotiate with others in a matrixed environment
Ability to manage multiple, high-visibility, high-impact strategic initiatives to successful conclusions and outcomes
Proven people leader and manager of high performing teams
Bachelor's degree in computer science or any other relevant field
