Within the National Operations’ management team, the Director, Planning & Performance is responsible for helping to deliver operational excellence via utilizing data analytics translated into insights and core principles such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen - to help standardize, streamline and simplify core processes and exemplary best practices – across Acreage’s CPF footprint. This position reports to the National Director, Operations and plays a contributing role in strategic planning and execution to support a successful ongoing and annual financial performance and market share growth for the company.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Creates, maintains and monitors the new, National Operations’ Excellence program and activities – which are essential to the achievement of key outcomes - ensuring integration and coordination across Acreage’s footprint and teams
Provides subject matter expertise in structured problem solving and root cause analyses; enabling feasible, competitive and innovative solutions to help support a successful company performance.
Partners with the Project and Procurement Manager to develop, execute and track strategic projects and key operational initiatives on time and within budget.
Oversees process improvement initiatives, reflecting core, lean manufacturing principles and practices; defines and monitors performance metrics and fosters culture, as needed
Utilizes dashboards and KPI’s to monitor and track performance of project goals and cost savings for designated Operational Excellence projects
Champions use of KPI / metric management for data-based decision making and innovative solutions
Effectively manages execution in support of strategy deployments, risk management and change management
Effectively engages and communicates with National Operations’ team members, senior management and cross-functional stakeholders on all activities pertaining to objectives, status. risks, and mitigation plans associated with projects, as well as ensuring all team members are aware of and aligned on integrated project timelines
Provides Operational Excellence training to support the effective execution of approved strategic projects and operational initiatives
Manages budget(s), cost(s), schedule(s) and rate(s) of return for Operational Excellence activities
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of five years’ experience focused in Operational Excellence, Lean Practice and/or Problem Solving
Five years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities)
Cannabis industry experience is preferred
Certification is desired in ASQ, Lean Six Sigma, Black Belt

Knowledge of plant tracking software, both PATC-approved and state-mandated

Manufacturing environment that requires extended time standing, walking, bending and reaching. Consistent use of a computer and office equipment.
