Director of Special Education 2024-25: Consultant
The role of Director of Special Education Consultant at RISE Prep will include the following responsibilities and would ideally onboard in April 2024, with the latest start date during Summer 2024. We anticipate that this role would be no more than 5-7 hours/month between both the K-8 school and RISE Prep's High School.
Responsibilities
Serve as the special education LEA, along with school-based Deans of Special Education, at RISE Prep Mayoral Academy Submit the Census for RISE Prep (data will be reviewed and confirmed with school-based Dean of Special Education) Quarterly SPED discrepancies report (data will be confirmed with school-based Dean of Special Education) Support Dean of Special Education with any SSSR related questions or review during a review year Support Dean of Special Education with any special education-related grievances Update Dean of Special Education with any special education regulations/guidelines Answer any compliance questions from the Dean of Special Education Share any resources/best practices/templates with the Dean of Special Education to improve practice
To streamline the communication and support, the Director of Special Education Consultant will work directly with the Dean of Special Education at RISE Prep schools who will serve as the liaison to their respective school-based special education teams.
Qualifications Of Director Of Special Education Consultant
Rhode Island Director of Special Education Certification 3+ years of experience in a Director of Special Education role in Rhode Island with experience in state reporting and programmatic oversight
Compensation RISE Prep is open to considering an hourly consultant rate or a stipend for the Director of Special Education Role.
