Director of Sales Strategy
This individual is responsible for overseeing the sales strategy and growth objectives for their business channel. Key responsibilities include crafting plans to meet sales targets, nurturing customer relationships, and achieving quarterly goals.
In this crucial role, you will lead the sales and business management team supporting the channel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train, develop, and lead a team of sales managers.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to reach sales targets.
- Formulate and communicate channel strategies to ensure internal alignment.
- Foster and maintain top-tier customer partnerships.
- Stay informed on industry trends and adjust plans for a complex, multi-channel retail marketplace.
A Day in the Life of a Director of Sales:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional support teams across the organization.
- Lead both short- and long-term business planning to create comprehensive account plans that include business and marketing strategies, driving revenue growth for Hasbro’s toys, games, and CP business.
- Enhance account relationships through daily interactions with omni-channel merchandising, inventory planning, and supply chain teams.
- Conduct sales data analysis to ensure growth plans align with annual goals and recommend necessary course adjustments.
What You’ll Bring:
The ideal candidate has a proven history of consistently meeting financial commitments, both quarterly and annually. They understand how to drive supply chain transformations to accommodate evolving and diverse retail platforms. Additionally, they have experience managing a portfolio of entertainment-driven brands and leading a team of sales managers. They handle multiple diverse customer accounts and manage complex priorities and deadlines efficiently. They identify opportunities within accounts, develop strategic plans, communicate and present these opportunities internally and externally, and inspire peers and their team to execute complex plans. They provide progress reports and adapt plans as retail conditions change.
- BS/BA or University degree in Business or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) or a fast-paced consumer goods industry.
- Experience managing multiple internal and external teams.
- Proven success in driving revenue growth with complex accounts.
- Expertise in translating strategy and vision into actionable plans.
- Strong project management skills, capable of prioritizing and handling multiple initiatives under tight deadlines and budget constraints.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically (25-50% travel required).
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation and negotiation skills.
- Proficient multi-tasker.
