General Purpose: The Director of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) is in a strategic position reporting directly to the Chief Supply Chain Officer. This role will require an experienced S&OP leader able to facilitate and drive results in a fast paced and demanding growth environment, leveraging their interpersonal and leadership skills. This person is responsible for implementing a world class S&OP process across TIME Manufacturing Company to improve customer satisfaction, profitability, inventory turns, lead times and working capital. The core functions of the position include strategic and tactical decision making related to balancing demand and supply; aligns volume and mix with capacity and capability; and integrates financial and operating plans with strategic objectives to deliver improved operating and financial results.


Responsibilities

•        Develop, monitor, and revise production and purchasing plans, in the short and long term, to optimize the use of labor, equipment and financial resources while meeting the needs of the customer.

•        Prepare data and material for monthly S&OP meetings that will facilitate decisions around equipment, labor and all other resources needed to support demand over the S&OP planning horizon.

•        Assist in the documentation of assumptions incorporated in the demand and supply plan and validate past assumptions.

•        Coordinate and facilitate the monthly S&OP meetings to achieve the demand plan consensus including strategic, product, sales, and marketing activities as well as supply plan balances and constraints/gaps.

•        Develop support metrics, tools and reporting that will enable production and procurement teams to achieve these service levels and inventory targets.

•        Work closely with Sales and Product Development on planning/executing the ramp-up of new products as well ad plan/manage other product life cycle phases.

•        Track performance metrics and analysis to identify both opportunities and potential issues with S&OP processes and reports; provide insights and recommendations to help improve results.

•        Work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing and Logistics to evaluate demand/production plan against inventory, capacity and external factors and develop mitigation plans, as necessary.

•        Achieve customer service order fulfillment objectives of  > 95% (OTIF) while maintaining targeted inventory levels.

•        Improve material availability to support internal production and customer requirements. Use Capacity Planning tools to determine if production will be constrained in future periods; load level production plan and identify potential corrective actions such as: working overtime, adding equipment, outsourcing, or expediting as well as balancing resources and capacity across manufacturing.

•        Work closely with procurement and inventory control leaders to optimize inventory levels through improved material planning, supplier stocking programs, lead time reductions, etc.

•        Develop business policies and implement the associated metrics to monitor data accuracy, validity, and completeness impacting downstream planning and fulfilment processes (ERP item master, BoMs, routings, etc.).

•        Identify and leverage opportunities to continually improve the quality of material scheduling/planning data, processes, and standards.

•        Initiate and drive projects for continuous improvement on inventory accuracy and planning.


Minimum Qualifications

Education

•        BA Degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Technical, or equivalent.

Experience

•        Minimum 8 years of supply chain and operations experience (in a capital business, discrete manufacturing environment).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

•        Strong background and understanding of the following in a manufacturing / distribution environment:

o  Materials Management / Master Scheduling

o  Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)

o  Forecasting o Capacity Planning

•        An advanced understanding and application of lean manufacturing principles.

•        Data driven with demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

•        Proven leadership abilities and in-depth knowledge of materials management and S&OP.

•        Knowledge, experience, and proficiency with ERP systems.

•        Strong experience in performance metrics and process implementation and improvement.

•        Strong project management skills / background.

•        High ethical standards. Models and supports organization’s goals and values; adapts to changing conditions; demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles.

•        Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media.

•        Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and hold others accountable.


Preferred Qualifications

•        APICS / Supply Chain Certifications or other Materials related certifications.

•        Experience with Epicor a plus.
