Director of Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning

Lasko, a leader in home comfort products, is looking for an experienced Director of SIOP to lead the sales, inventory and operations planning process. The Director of SIP will own and monitor the processes, define and analyze the business rules, be a key driver in the decision-making process and ensure system integrity in the management of ~$300M in procurement and on-hand inventory. Accountable for delivering a balanced demand & supply plan across the supply chain; this includes strategic and tactical decision-making related to balancing demand and supply; aligning volume and mix with capacity and capability; and integrating global financial and operating plans with strategic objectives to deliver improved sourcing, operating and financial results.

This position can sit from our West Chester, PA headquarters, or in our light manufacturing facilities in Fort Worth, TX or Franklin, TN.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage, direct and continual development of the Sales & Operations Planning process and analysis to ensure effective utilization of company assets
  • Assessment and recommendations on the Company level financial risks related to Demand/Sales/Inventory forecast
  • Work collaboratively with leaders in Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Operations and Supply Chain
  • Work closely with senior business leadership (up to an including the C-suite) to help shape and deliver the strategic objectives of the company through SIOP by determining the correct mix/balance between supply and demand
  • Lead an Executive SIOP monthly meeting to resolve all demand vs supply issues including the potential deployment of additional capital
  • Lead teams to utilize statistical techniques and software tools to analyze business trends
  • Develop reports and monitor critical KPIs to show shipments trends, forecast performance and supply issues; Implement corrective actions to meet targeted KPI's
  • Work with Customer Service, Strategic Sourcing, Buyer/Planners and Operations to understand supply constraints and plan solutions to address inconsistencies between demand based forecasts and sales goals
  • Drive accountability, by region, to global inventory impact, analyzing changes in forecasts and providing resulting risk/opportunity assessments in any of the following: inventory dollars, inventory turns, days inventory on hand, and inventory reduction
  • Accountable for driving improvements and structure to the full SIOP Process
  • Develop and drive the strategy and vision of the SIOP process to keep pace with business priorities; including internal and external benchmarking, continuous process improvements, and system integration.
  • Responsible for training and coaching of all stakeholders to ensure clear expectations of roles and responsibilities.

Experience & Skills

  • Strong Demonstrated Analytical and Statistical Experience and inquisitive nature
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, experience in a matrix environment desirable.
  • Strong computer system skills, especially in Inventory Planning/ERP systems and MS Office suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Broad range of influence skills and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work with virtual teams and cross functionally

Qualifications

  • Bachelors' Degree in a relevant discipline; MBA or Masters Degree in a relevant discipline preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain or related fields to include previous or current direct management of S&OP processes
  • 5+ years leadership experience
  • Experience in mixed model Make to Forecast (MTF) Make to Stock (MTS) and Made to Order (MTO) environment
  • APICS S&OP certificate or CSCP certification a plus
  • Thorough understanding of Supply Chain principles and Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) as well as strength in inventory analysis and planning
  • Previous large MRP, planning and financial system experience such as SAP or similar
  • Experience in Manufacturing environment.
