You Are

A Director of Information Security Operations who will direct and manage UST’s security operations team, including cyber security monitoring, incident detection and response, breach and attack simulation, threat hunting, vulnerability management, and the security architecture and engineering team, including cloud and application security, penetration testing, and managing security solutions. You will work directly with the CISO to strengthen UST’s cyber resilience and address its evolving threat landscape properly.

The Opportunity

  • Lead UST’s cyber security operations function, provide the right capabilities and resources to deliver effective 24/7 operational security coverage and incident response across all environments
  • Develop, coach, and mentor a high-performing staff of security operations experts
  • Review and enhance cyber incident management and response plans and procedures and ensure the provision and 24/7 availability of appropriate cyber incident response and management resources
  • Engage with UST’s Incident Management function to ensure that Information Security incidents are handled appropriately
  • Steer the cyber defense vendor landscape and effective integration and management
  • Work within the legal constraints imposed by the jurisdictions in which the organization operates, carrying out investigations into security incidents using all relevant sources of information. Assess the need for digital forensic activity and engage specialist digital forensic services as required.
  • Ensure an effective threat & vulnerability management program is in place to identify and manage cyber threats and vulnerabilities to UST’s technology environments throughout their lifecycle
  • Manage the selection, configuration, operation, and maintenance of cyber monitoring and vulnerability management technologies/tooling
  • Work with the MSSP on the review of log sources, monitoring use cases, and SIEM management to ensure that triggers and s are effectively implemented and managed
  • Establish and maintain documented Security Operating Procedures in accordance with relevant security policies, requirements, and standards
  • Engage with the remediation owners to ensure vulnerabilities are remediated
  • Work with the CISO to develop and deliver on the information security architecture and engineering roadmap and objectives, develop budget projections, and manage costs
  • Lead a team of Security Engineers and Architects supporting IAM, Application & Cloud Security, Information Asset Security, Host and Network Security, etc.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a related field or relevant years of work experience
  • At least 15 years in information security and risk management, with at least 10 years leading security operations for a global company.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and coach leaders and individual contributors from a diverse background.
  • Demonstrate ability to make good decisions that can have a material impact on overall results. Utilize negotiation, presentation, and communication skills to present, defend, and sell those decisions to achieve desired results.

Good To Have

  • CISSP or CISM certification

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. As required by local law, UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York City, or Washington as set forth below.

Role Location: Remote

Salary Range: $110,000-$220,000
