Director of Digital Measurement Engineering

As the Director of Digital Measurement - Engineering, you will be instrumental in architecting and implementing robust digital measurement solutions for MLB's wide portfolio of consumer products, enabling comprehensive tracking and analysis of fan engagement. You will lead a team of solution architects, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. This is a hands-on role where you will not only provide technical expertise but also drive strategic initiatives to enhance MLB's digital measurement capabilities.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on digital measurement and analytics.
  • 5+ years of experience with Adobe digital measurement toolset including Analytics, Target, and Audience Manager
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with a track record of delivering successful projects on time and within budget.
  • Hands-on experience with product analytics software such as Adobe Analytics, Adobe Audience Manager, and other Adobe tools including implementation, configuration, and customization.
  • Strong technical skills in data processing frameworks, programming languages, and database technologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.

Nice to Haves

  • Passion for sports and a deep understanding of digital media and fan engagement trends in the sports industry.
  • Experience with Adobe Customer Journey Analytics, Adobe Data Collection and associated SDKs.
  • Experience with Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement a best-in-class digital measurement infrastructure for MLB's digital products spanning web, mobile applications and connected devices, ensuring consistent, timely, and accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to define measurement frameworks and establish industry-leading standards for digital analytics.
  • Partner with product, engineering and partner teams to define specific analytics features and requirements and ensure comprehensive tracking of fan interactions
  • Lead a team of solution architects, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to drive successful project execution.
  • Oversee the implementation and configuration of product analytics software, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Drive the adoption of data governance best practices and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in digital measurement and analytics, driving innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $200,000 - $220,000
