Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Senior Director, Revenue Generation, for Alumni and Affiliate Relations (AAR), serve as a revenue generation specialist with a focus on generating revenue through AAR’s wine, travel and business partnership programs. Responsible for soliciting new business revenue with local, regional and national companies through the integrated packaging of assets in the areas of digital email and publications, social media, signature events, member benefits, and student, parent and alumni programming. Also responsible for management of the UC Davis Aggie Adventures Travel program and UC Davis Alumni Wine Program. This position requires good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, and works independently, collaboratively, and collegially as part of a diverse, matrix organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in marketing and sales with experience in product and/or event branding, market placement and customer service.
  • Working knowledge of, and experience with, new business development; excellent business acumen and understanding of the business environment.
  • Experience to communicate and write effectively to a variety of audiences including letters, proposals, evaluations, reports, program summaries, charts and brochures, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in revenue generating event planning, marketing and implementation.
  • Extensive computer knowledge including email marketing platforms, database management, spreadsheet creation and presentation software.
  • Skills to segment and analyze data and translate those analytics into business opportunities.

  • Experience in working with volunteers.

Department Overview

Alumni and Affiliate Relations consists of 14 employees, with a mission to create lifelong ambassadors for UC Davis and enrich the lives of alumni, students, and friends worldwide. The Office of Alumni and Affiliate Relations is dedicated to the realization of the Cal Aggie Alumni Association’s (CAAA) mission and ensuring that CAAA is a major link between the University and its constituents and a key resource to which the administration turns for advice and counsel. The Office of Alumni and Affiliate Relations also administers the activities and financial transactions of the Aggie Parent and Family Council, Student Alumni Association and Retiree Center. UC Davis has approximately 315,000 alumni and there are approximately 43,000 dues paying members of CAAA, the Aggie Parent and Family Association and Student Alumni Association. The unit has an operating budget of $2.2 million and over $6.7 million in endowments. The Director of Business Partnerships, Wine and Travel Programs is responsible for creating partnerships with businesses to provide financial and in-kind support for AAR. This position will also oversee the alumni travel program as both a revenue generator and engagement tool. This position will also manage the Alumni Wine Club and execute events to both retain and grow club membership.

Work Environment
