Director of Accounting

HTeaO is currently seeking a Director of Accounting to join our growing team! Reporting directly to the CFO, this position will manage the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of effective financial controls. This role will manage a team of accounting professionals and work closely with other departments to support the overall financial strategy of the organization.

HTeaO is a unique franchise specializing in iced tea, founded by Gary & Kim Hutchens in 2009. Starting as a humble venture, it grew from selling flavored iced teas at their burger restaurant, Buns Over Texas, to launching the first dedicated tea store in 2018.

Today, HTeaO is the premier iced tea franchise in a growing category within the beverage industry. HTeaO serves ultra-premium tea, water and coffee-related products to customers in-store and through a drive-thru. Twenty-six (26) handcrafted flavors of sweetened and unsweetened tea are sold at each location, created with a proprietary water filtration system, and 100% all natural ingredients.

Additionally, the brand continues to expand nationwide with over 100 open stores in 6 states. Additionally, HTeaO boasts a large pipeline of sites under construction and franchises sold. Anticipated record franchise agreements are on the horizon for 2024, indicating ongoing success and market dominance.

Responsibilities

• Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
• Assist and supervise the preparation of consolidation monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements of multiple entities
• Responsible for general ledger management and assisting the Controller with monthly close and analysis, acquisitions, fixed asset additions, and equity transactions
• Franchisor or restaurant experience preferred
• Prior Controller experience
• Provide monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial analysis
• Review schedules and support for general ledger account balances
• Collaborate with the CFO and other department heads to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor actual financial performance against budget and provide analysis of variances.
• Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits.
• Supervise and provide guidance to the accounting staff
• Assist operations teams with accounting/finance-related issues
• Assist the Accounting Manager and complete special projects as assigned by the CFO

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• 6-8 years of experience in accounting with a strong preference for a blend of Public Accounting and accounting the retail industry
• Experienced in process improvements and implementing best practices
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Supervisory experience is a required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experienced in QuickBooks Online
• Knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, etc.)
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Software (Fishbowl, Made4Net, etc.)
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Resourceful and can wear multiple hats
• Excellent work ethic

Work Environment

• This is a full-time position based in Fort Worth, Texas.
• Occasional travel may be required for meetings and conferences.
