Job Position: Director of Accounting

Target Pay Range: $150,000 - $180,000/year; depending on level of relevant experience and qualifications

Employment Classification: Full-Time

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage processes, capturing, maintaining, and reporting accurate financial data. Ensure that the monthly/quarterly financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, meeting established deadlines while comparing results to prior year, monthly trends, and plan.
• Communicate actual results clearly, create and modify reporting as needed to incorporate business changes.
• Overall owner of the monthly close. Escalate issues as needed.
• Business owner for GL system (currently Canopy) and Chart of Accounts maintenance. Evaluate, plan and test GL portion of migration to new systems.
• Analyze complex financial information and develop reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes.
• Control owner for key reconciliations and processes. Assist in developing and implementing financial controls, standards, and risk-mitigation.
• Manage annual audit.
• Train, supervise and develop accounting staff.
• Analyze and lead adoption of new accounting pronouncements.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

• 10 or more years experience in accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• CPA license preferred
