Director I, Recruitment (226 Days)

The Recruitment and Selection Director develops and implements strategic recruitment plans for 135,000+ students that support the Dallas ISD vision and student achievement goals. This role develops and implements pipelines and programs designed to improve the quality and diversity of new hires and the efficiency of the recruiting process. Leads efforts to develop relationships and source candidates from external sources, associations, universities, etc. Drives activities relating to branding and marketing for teacher recruitment through external branding, traditional/nontraditional recruitment strategies, and marketing campaigns. This role's primary responsibility is teacher recruitment but is not limited to overseeing the district visa processing team, student and resident teacher programs, and grow your own teacher programs.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all districtwide educator recruitment initiatives to meet district needs, including overseeing job fairs.
  • Develop plans within our Title Budget and EEO guidelines to keep schools fully staffed, ensure candidate quality meets district standards, and provide feedback on the candidate interviewing and selection status. This includes preparing and maintaining the annual recruiting plan and budget under special revenue guidelines.
  • Direct the H-lB and J1 visa program for Dallas ISD by establishing policies and procedures related to visas, checking eligibility, and preparing selected candidates' documentation for new petitions to be filed with the USCIS.
  • Direct the oversight and coordination of the Student Teacher Program. This includes the management of all district Memorandum of Understanding, management oversight of the collaboration with colleges/universities and students in the approval and placement process, and follow-up student-teacher training.
  • Direct the P-Tech and ECHS Education Pathways “grow your own” pipeline to develop a future teacher pipeline within the District, including overseeing the collegiate academy workplace visits, mentoring, internship programs, and the annual Letter of Intent Ceremony.
  • Direct the recruitment, selection process, and onboarding training of the Dallas ISD Residency Program (adjunct teachers), along with overseeing all external Residency Programs.
  • Strategically plan recruiting trips for the district and participate in recruiting fairs at universities and other organizations.
  • Identify, research, and create non-traditional sources and methods of attracting, recruiting, and retaining talent.
  • Develop initiatives to diversify the workforce which includes but is not limited to the Call Me MiSTER program.
  • Manage and ensure effective vendor management processes and performance for teacher recruitment by 3rd parties supporting talent acquisition initiatives, programs, and tools.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University in a directly related field; Master's Degree and mid-management certification preferred.
  • Five years of staffing/employment or directly related experience.
  • A desire to work in a relentless and outcomes focused environment.
