Job Title: Director, Human Resources Business Partner

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director, Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Human Resources, you will collaborate closely with our HR Business Partner team and client groups to champion HR initiatives that enhance employee engagement and foster a positive workplace environment. Experience in pharma/biopharma industry required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate robust relationships with assigned client groups.
  • Provide expert guidance on various HR matters including staffing, compensation, training, performance management, and compliance.
  • Serve as a consultant, offering coaching to management on employee-related issues and facilitating discussions on performance, career progression, and compensation.
  • Collaborate with client groups to identify current and future staffing needs and develop strategies for organizational development.
  • Work alongside the team to devise recruitment strategies aligned with staffing objectives.
  • Consult with department leaders to address potential employee issues and provide support for resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal and external legal counsel when necessary.
  • Partner with functional heads on annual performance, compensation, and merit review cycles.
  • Lead and execute various compensation incentive initiatives and projects.
  • Contribute to HR programs and initiatives related to compensation, benefits, and HR systems.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices across the organization.
  • Coach functional heads in talent identification and support the development of employee growth opportunities.
  • Provide leadership coaching and create training plans for leadership development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; minimum of 8 years' experience in Human Resources; experience in pharma/biopharma industry required.
  • Proven track record as an HR Business Partner focusing on performance management, organizational design, leadership coaching, and employee relations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide innovative solutions to organizational challenges.
  • Thorough understanding of HR policies, procedures, compliance, and best practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and align with broader HR objectives.
  • Strong decision-making skills and capacity to resolve employee relations issues.
  • Proficiency in incentive compensation principles, practices, and trends.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to be hands on and tactical while keeping the big picture in mind.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in pursuing creative solutions.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate employee needs and develop innovative solutions for an enhanced employee experience.
  • Exceptional prioritization and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

This role can be based at our Hayward or Brisbane, CA location. The anticipated salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this position is $187,000 - $200,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this posted position. The actual salary may vary based on various factors including, without limitation, individual education, experience, tenure, skills and abilities, internal equity and alignment with market data.
