Summary

As the Director of Engineering Services, you will lead a team of Engineering Services Account Managers and Team Managers, driving revenue and profit through strategic leadership and robust execution. Your core responsibilities will include developing a comprehensive business plan, providing direct coaching to elevate team performance, and continuously recruiting top talent.


The role encompasses the development and nurturing of a consultant team, the enhancement of our client's dynamic work environment via ongoing engagement and the creation of Engineering Services opportunities, along with the identification of new areas for growth. Additionally, you will devise and implement focused sales strategies and cultivate pivotal strategic partnerships to advance the client's business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead Sales and Account Management initiatives by providing major Automotive, Off-Highway, Commercial Vehicle, Agricultural, and/or Construction Equipment companies with Engineering Services.
  • Coach team members on all responsibilities, track performance through KPIs, and provide targeted guidance to improve outcomes.
  • Support consultants in their professional development to boost satisfaction and retention.
  • Make strategic decisions and align team goals with overall company objectives. Report results to executive leadership and provide mentorship to enhance team skills.
  • Develop new business by prospecting potential clients in the engineering sectors.
  • Manage and support existing client accounts and projects.
  • Travel to client sites to develop tailored solutions with technical team support.
  • Enhance profitability with medium to large accounts, closing deals on various service and time-based contracts.
  • Maintain and deepen relationships with partners and clients to build trust and understand evolving business requirements.
  • Utilize Salesforce to monitor leads and track sales data.
  • Set pricing strategies and craft proposals to secure sales and achieve commercial goals.
  • Continuously recruit and match candidates to meet immediate and future client needs.
  • Oversee the integration and management of recruited consultants, fostering a dedicated team of employees.
  • This role carries significant autonomy and requires a strategic mindset focused on growth and team development.


Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required, ideally in Business or Engineering
  • Experience in Engineering Services is an absolute must, providing Engineers on a project basis to Automotive OEM and Tier 1 and/or Off-Highway, Commercial Vehicle, Agricultural, and/or Construction Equipment companies.
  • At least 7 years of Sales Leadership experience (minimum of 2 Direct Reports) with a company that provides Engineering Services.
  • Proven track record of building business. International, offshore market experience is preferred.
  • Experience with an established a network of engineering-related contacts and customers.
  • Excellent communication skills, proficient in both spoken and written English.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to have a flexible schedule and availability as needed.
