Data and Research Analyst

The SPLC is seeking a Data & Research Analyst to conduct research and analyses to support our Political Campaigns Department!

The Data & Research Analyst for the Political Campaigns Department conducts quantitative research and analyses to support local political elections and translate the results for non-technical audiences.

Who You Are

Experienced. Demonstrated experience in big data, political data analysis, database creation and management for political campaigns. Proficient in Voter Activation Network (VAN).

Effective Communicator. Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally.

Analytical. Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve problems quantitively and/or qualitatively and make sound decisions based on available information.

Collaborative. Demonstrated ability to work with internal departments, external organizations, and stakeholders to execute specific political research strategies to advance the work of the Political Campaigns department.

What You'll Do

Conduct statistical and descriptive analysis using VAN and other sources to support electoral decision-making priorities.

Collect and process data including establishing best practices for data collection and storage.

Present data to discuss and support a political campaign strategy to help improve program efficiency.

Serve as the primary contact to support dashboards and coordinate technical vendors and or partners.

Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.

Minimum Qualifications

We are committed to equitable hiring practices; therefore you must meet the minimum qualifications to be considered for the role.

  • At least three (3) years of big data, political data analysis, database creation and management; and
  • High School diploma or GED.

Compensation & Additional Information

This is an exempt role, and the minimum starting salary is $71,682.00 annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Where and How You'll Work

This role the following work designations options:

  • Local Remote: Will work remotely but is expected to attend work-related activities that occur at the SPLC offices or in the states in which the SPLC operates.
  • Telework: Will work at an SPLC office at least three days per week and may work two days per week from an alternative work location.
  • This position will report to the Director, Political Campaigns.

Other Special Considerations

This job is performed under general office conditions and is not subject to any strenuous physical demands or dangerous conditions.

This position is represented by the Washington-Baltimore News Guild.
