We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Customs Broker to join our team full-time. The Customs Broker will play a pivotal role in managing customs compliance, facilitating import/export procedures, and providing expert guidance to clients on international trade regulations.
Roles And Responsibilities
Customs Compliance: Ensure clients comply with all relevant customs laws, regulations, and procedures for both imports and exports.
Customs Documentation: Prepare and submit accurate customs documentation, including customs declarations, invoices, and certificates of origin.
Tariff Classification: Determine the correct classification of goods under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and other classification systems.
Valuation: Assist in determining the customs value of imported goods, ensuring compliance with valuation methods and regulations.
Duty Calculation: Calculate duties, taxes, and tariffs payable on imported goods and advise clients on duty minimization strategies.
Client Advisory: Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on customs-related matters, including tariff implications, compliance risks, and opportunities for optimization.
Audit Support: Assist clients in preparing for and responding to customs audits, ensuring all documentation and processes meet regulatory requirements.
Trade Agreements: Evaluate eligibility and facilitate compliance with preferential trade agreements (e.g., Free Trade Agreements) to minimize duties and taxes.
Regulatory Updates: Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and trade policies, and educate clients on relevant updates and implications.
Customer Service: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, customs authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth customs clearance processes.
