Do you want to work for a Tier 1 supplier that manages the complete assembly and sequencing of modules for OEMs like, GM, Ford, and Chrysler?

Softtek is looking to fill a direct hire Controls Engineer role in Chicago, IL. The candidate will be working in a fast-paced global enterprise environment and will require the Controls Engineer to be onsite. CANDIDATE MUST BE LOCAL TO THE SOUTH CHICAGO AREA!

Plant manufacturing floor experience is REQUIRED. The ideal Controls Engineer must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in controls, assembly operations, and PLC logic and programming, preferably in an automotive environment.

Basic Education, Experience and Skills Required:

• 2-year minimum college education and 2 years of related experience in controls and assembly operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• PLC understanding and programming
• Must have proven experience in: PLC logic and programming with any of the following PLCs: Allen Bradley, Modicon, GE Fanuc, Siemens, Automation Direct, Mitsubishi, Omron, Aromat, Toshiba, HMI or SCADA
• Programming and configuration of any of the following software packages: Wonderware, Rockwell, Intellution, GE Cimplicity, Ci-Tech, Iconics, Siemens, US Data, etc.
• Solid mechanical / electrical skills
• Panel design and layout, wiring schematic capabilities
• Must have blue-print reading experience
• Conveyor systems
• Bar code readers
• Field commissioning experience
• Control Net and Device Net I/O systems
• RS View
• Industrial Controls (photo electrics, motor control centers, etc.)
• Variable Frequency Drives
• Auto-Cad Experience
• Possess excellent leadership abilities, organizational and communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communications
• Excellent analytical skills
• Proficient advanced computer skills, knowledge in Microsoft (Word, Excel)
