Controller
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervises, motivates, and develops accounting staff, managing schedules and workflow. Manages all accounting operations including A/P, A/R, GL, Revenue and Treasury.
- Prepares monthly financial statements (P&Ls and Balance Sheets) in accordance with existing formats, GAAP;
- Prepares cash flow forecasts and oversees daily bank balance activity to mitigate risk and ensure optimal operating cash reserves;
- Reviews and approves daily sales reconciliation, petty cash, bank accounts, and credit card accounts;
- Maintain robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets;
- Establish and manage consistent month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting;
- Prepare financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders;
- Coordinate and support the company’s annual external audit process;
- Assist the CFO in establishing best practices across the accounting function;
- Lead a high-performing accounting team, providing guidance, coaching and professional development opportunities;

Qualifications/Job Requirements:
- BA in Accounting or Finance preferred; CPA highly preferred;
- Big 4/National Firm and/or audit experience is preferred;
- 3+ years of Hospitality, Event Services, Food & Beverage or other similar industry experience;
- Experience as a controller or in a similar financial leadership role, ideally in a high-growth and/or private equity-backed company;
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements;
- Professional demeanor with outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills and proven ability to influence internal and external parties;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and rapidly changing environment;
- Ideal candidates will have experience with ERP and other accounting system implementation, M&A transaction accounting and integration and lender reporting;
- Experience with sales tax, two-sided marketplaces and revenue recognition (ASC 606);
- Ability to plan, prioritize and work under pressure to achieve ongoing time deadlines in dynamic, fast paced work environment;
- Strong skills to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions;
- Must be detail-oriented and organized with time and data. Tolerance of ambiguity, change, rapid iteration, and a fast-paced environment; ability to manage pressure with sense of humor, perspective, strong prioritization, and positivity;
- Ability to work independently and assist other departments with additional projects;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
