Cognivue, Inc. is a Rochester, NY based startup aiming to change the standard of care to routine cognitive function screening, to allow for early intervention and proper management as well as eliminate uncertainty about cognitive function. Cognivue® is the world’s first FDA-cleared, computerized test of cognitive function: a risk assessment screening tool that identifies changes in cognitive function that could be indicative of early dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease.
Finance
Provide financial leadership.
Manage several FP&A responsibilities including financial planning, tracking of operating expenses, monthly close oversight, quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, and variance analysis.
Monthly financial reporting.
Analyze monthly operating performance against budgeted expenses by department.
Prepare annual financial forecasts and outlooks.
Treasury management and forecasting of cash needs to ensure proper working capital is available to operate the business.
Maintain 13-week cash flow.
Supervise accounts receivable and account payable activities.
Ensure tax accounting and compliance are aligned with local, state and federal regulations.
Manage relationships with banks, brokers, payroll provider, CPA firm, and other outside institutions.
Oversee optimization of information systems.
Continuous process implementation and improvement.
Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the departments goals and objectives.
Provide leadership and mentorship for the finance team.
Legal / Compliance
Ownership of corporate insurance requirements and risk management.
Liaison between company and legal counsel for the company.
Drive sales tax compliance as company enters new markets outside of the USA.
Ensure company is registered to do business in states and maintain annual registrations.
Records management officer, ensuring all company documents are retained as required.
Human Resources
Oversee daily operations of human resources.
Facilitate hiring and onboarding of all company personnel.
Payroll and benefits administration.
Conduct annual compensation reviews and drive the annual performance review process for all departments.
Developing clear HR policies and ensuring policy awareness.
Maintaining employee and workplace privacy.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, or related field
Proven experience in Controller role or similar role responsibilities
Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow modeling
Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with focus on team building and driving accountability
Previous experience working with NetSuite ERP system is a BIG plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions in the best interest of the company and customer base
Ability to work under pressure with a high volume of transaction activity. Effectively prioritizing, delegating, and managing time.
