Compliance Specialist (Hybrid Work Model)

Swiss Re's Regulatory Operations team has a wonderful opportunity for a diligent, detail-minded Compliance Specialist to support our North America product offerings and policy issuance!

About The Role

This role provides direction and support to the business units throughout the development, preparation and implementation of the product filings life cycle. This includes collaborating directly with key stakeholders and state departments of insurance to assure appropriate involvement and effective strategy during the filing. This position also responds quickly to internal inquiries on product regulatory compliance, applying problem-solving techniques to provide resolution.

Additional Key Responsibilities Include

  • Manage the creation and submission of state rate, rule, and form filings commensurate with business objectives and in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including communication and negotiation of filings with insurance departments.
  • Review and analyze state insurance department statutes, regulations, bulletins, etc. to determine impact, staying current on changes and developments that impact insurance design and development and communicating accordingly.
  • Support timely implementation of approved forms and/or changes of forms for various policy issuance systems, providing detailed instructions regarding programming and use requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure Swiss Re's internal tracking system is updated and accurate with current regulatory compliant product filing information. Review and Sign-Off on Weekly/Monthly Production move regression testing.
  • Completion of assigned or insurance department requested state regulatory reports.

About You

You bring solid, strong critical thinking skills. Needing minimal supervision to be productive, you roll up your sleeves to take initiative and dive right in! You are adept at anticipating, thinking all the way through to the endgame and successfully managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

A natural at working both independently and collaboratively in team settings in a global matrix environment, you effectively interact with all stakeholder and regulatory authority levels.

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2-5 years' experience in insurance rate and form filing, policy issuance system implementation or other insurance regulatory related work
  • Familiarity with Bureau Circulars (i.e., ISO, AAIS, etc.)
  • Ability to skillfully and successfully negotiate and problem-solve
  • Adept at researching to artfully respond to objections, insurance departments and the like
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

PC Skills: Word, Excel, SERFF, iFile, NILS, ISOnet, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
