Our client is a Houston-based real estate investment firm working on exciting projects in the local Houston area - They offer incredible mentorship to the Associate stepping into this role.
Job Description
The Associate will underwrite for ground-up development and value add acquisitions across all property types including office, multifamily, retail, hospitality and lab/medical. Other responsibilities:
Maintain and run financial models on existing assets and/or acquisitions using DCF Models or other similar financial tools in excel or ARGUS
Create sophisticated analyses for tracking and reviewing returns and performance on Asset and Fund levels
Evaluate research data and produce real time valuation
Consolidate, analyze and model financial data including budget analysis and income statement forecasting.
Support the asset management team and development team in underwriting deals and reviewing operational reports, property forecasts, proformas, and Argus cash flows for accuracy and provides variance analysis
Update and complete various investor reports, including financial snapshots and qualitative summaries
Modeling and analyzing financial data regarding refinancing, acquisitions and/or disposition of investments

The Successful Applicant
2+ years of experience in Real Estate, Finance, or Investments with exceptional Excel modeling skills
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar
Demonstrated ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of multiple real estate asset classes, including experience with cash flow models, promote waterfalls, lease analysis, and property-level analysis.
Experience using a variety of financial modeling techniques with strong proficiency in Excel and ARGUS Enterprise
Skilled communicator- written and verbal - expert problem solver
Desire to work in a fast paced environment with minimal oversight
Must be able to juggle multiple tasks at once with strict deadlines
