Programming, research, and enhancing the capacities of Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCU) are also integral elements of our mission.
The College Success Coach is responsible for implementation, assessment, and development of donor funded student success programming that will result in improvements in persistence and degree completion for Native students. Additionally, responsibilities include collaboration across programs to work with team members in Student Success Services, Resource Development, Research Evaluation, and Programs initiatives to develop, execute, and report on student success programming. The coach will also partner with TCU and mainstream college staff and faculty to ensure students are connected to appropriate resources in their communities needed to meet their academic and career goals.

Essential Job Functions
- Provide tiered support for students in both college and career readiness strategies to guide students towards their graduation and career goals.
- Monitors and manages student database entries, student documents, and associated reports with a focus on data-driven analysis to measure effectiveness.
- Provides proactive communications connecting recipients to intentional intervention and student support services provided by the College Fund, their college, or their community.
- Communicates on a regular basis with scholars regarding upcoming deadlines, requirements, and expectations associated with their scholarship or other awards.
- Plans, facilitates, and engages students in online or in-person educational and career planning activities to help guide them to achieve their graduation and career readiness goals.
- Use cohort/group models of coaching when possible to support student goals to graduation and career.
- Plan convenings and site visits to institutions in collaboration with Student Success Services team for student check ins, TCU staff collaborations and to maintain partnerships.
- Build, maintain and enhance relationships with TCUs and their surrounding communities to ensure students are connected to resources and supports needed for their success.
- Provide reporting on activities, milestones, and impact to support overall department evaluation
- Provide formal updates to supervisors twice yearly for review and for professional growth (December and June.)
- Connect scholarship recipients and program participants to other Student Success Service programming at the College Fund as relevant.
- Plan, facilitate and implement programming and convenings for scholarship recipients in collaboration with the Student Success Services team.
- Collaborate on student engagement and communication efforts
- Support College Fund Strategic goals and objectives by sharing student stories, program successes, and supporting donor relationships and stewardship
- Supports other Student Success Services and College Fund initiatives
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence need in job function
- Content creation and event planning directly related to student support in job function
- Mange financial budgets as directed.
Competencies
- Proficient IT skills particularly with databases, Microsoft Office products and social media
- Ability to develop and enhance relationships
- Ability to meet deadlines for a wide variety of job assignments
- Ability to manage numerous tasks and/or projects at one time
- Attention to and tolerance for detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within and across departments as well as with external partners
- Proven ability to accomplish defined goals and objectives
- Experience presenting for small and large groups
- Expect frequent travel during periods of academic year; at least 4 trips per semester
- Mange workload while working remotely and while traveling.
- Bachelors Degree Preferred
- Experience working with AIAN or underserved population college students and communities
- Experience in Student Support Services or related fields
- MA in Student Affairs, or related field and/or four years of work experience in an education related setting
- Involvement and/or experience with student advising/coaching
- Two years of experience working in a field related to college and career readiness
- Traditional office setting
- Open work space
- Some hybrid and/or remote work potential with remote office space required
- Up to 30% travel may be required
- Frequent keyboarding
- Lifting up to 25 pounds.
- No supervisory responsibilities
