Responsibilities
Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and comprehend project objectives effectively.
Design, code, test, and debug COBOL programs in accordance with project specifications.
Enhance functionality and boost performance by modifying existing COBOL programs.
Ensure the reliability and stability of applications by conducting unit testing and system integration testing.
Address and resolve user-reported issues promptly and efficiently.
Document technical specifications, processes, and procedures comprehensively.
Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in COBOL programming.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven track record in a COBOL Programmer or similar role.
Proficiency in the COBOL programming language.
Strong grasp of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software engineering principles.
Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., SQL, DB2) and file systems.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
