Description

Under supervision, the incumbent will work as a Financial Analyst 1 within the Department of Psychiatry. The incumbent will support the Director of Clinical Finance for monitoring both clinical programs and miscellaneous department commitments in the Department of Psychiatry. Participates in monthly analytical review of clinical division that includes but not limited to: Salaries and funding sources are accurately reflected; Provide financial support for Fund / Project reconciling; and financial assistance with management of department clinical MOU’s and service agreements. In addition, provides ongoing support related to annual budgets and specific clinical programs. Serves as a resource for department administrators as financial requests are made to support all missions. Performs basic financial analysis and provides recommendations while using the most efficient use of resources. Assist with other project and miscellaneous duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area.
  • Basic knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
  • Acquiring ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize and perform basic financial analysis assignments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Basic proficiency using spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
  • Basic interpersonal skills; broad service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Under management guidance, uses organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to function as a member of a team.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
  • Basic statistical knowledge and financial background to analyze and drill down computer generated data to aid it strategic planning and dissemination of information on business processes.
  • Experience in preparing clinical reports including financial dashboard for monitoring and analyzing various Clinical Programs and clinical providers; experience in reconciling clinical financial information with Health System productivity data.
  • Basic knowledge in preparing detailed departmental Profit & Loss statements for Clinical Programs.
  • Experience in analyzing the budget data to most recent actual expenses and reviews the final budget figures in budget Modules. Basic experience in preparing monthly financial reports for clinical mission for leadership.
  • Experience in support Director in monitoring the finances of clinical programs, service agreements, and MOU’s and provide analytical support for those administrators and financial support.
  • Knowledge of financial management related to contracts and clinical programs including monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc requests; tracking budget to actual, billing reconciliation, and experience with salary allocation funding clean up.
  • Develop tools that assist with preparing required reports in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems
  • Proven ability to present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience using Epic Access to pull reports.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $52,100 - $87,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $24.95 - $42.10

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
