JOB TITLE: Clinical Admissions Clerk/Radiology Tech DEPARTMENT: Walk-In Clinic REPORTS TO: Radiology Department Director JOB SUMMARY The Clinical Admissions Clerk must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective to the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the departments policies and procedures. JOB REQUIREMENTS High School graduation or GED. Graduate of accredited x-ray tech program. Previous customer service and/or medical office experience helpful but not necessary. EXPERIENCE Previous computer experience helpful. Previous medical experience as a radiology tech a plus. SKILLS Computer experience; Customer Service REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS BLS required ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Rad Tech Functions: Must provide radiographic examination of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation. Must exercise professional judgment in performance of procedures applying principles of radiation protection. Performs diagnostic medical radiography within department and as ordered by physicians from outside the department. Maintains current Wyoming state license for radiology technology. Maintains radiology machines. Assumes responsibility for departmental quality assistance program involving the area of radiographs. Pursues continuing education. Follows policies and procedures per CRH. Should be able to work well under situations of stress. Must be willing to float to all clinics to perform Rad Tech duties. Front Desk Functions: Greets patients as they arrive at the WIC, determining the reason they are to be seen and calling for a nurse to triage as necessary. Registers patients accurately into the EMR, obtaining and registering all pertinent required information. Is always aware of patients in the waiting room and their status. Collects copays and from self-pay patients, accurately giving them a prompt pay discount if appropriate. Logs all patients signing in onto the daily log of patients seen and the reason for the visit, noting time of discharge and disposition. Copies and forwards records for PCP or specialist as directed. Must be able to answer the phone in a professional, courteous manner, following CRH Standards of Behavior. Must be able to take accurate phone messages and record message into EMR for follow up. Must always be mindful of HIPAA requirements, maintaining confidentiality at all times. Orders supplies for the clinic as needed. Other Clinical Duties : Performs ancillary duties as required, i.e. ordering tests, running specimens to CRH, or picking up supplies as requested. Assists in general hygiene of WIC and self, keeping waiting room and all working areas clean and free of clutter. Assists with back office functions as trained, i.e. rooming patients, taking vital signs, and performing lab procedures as certified. Adheres to CRH Standards of Behavior. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Attends department meetings and in-services and disaster drills. Stays up to date on all changes/education affecting position. Keeps current with CPR certification, RT licensing and registration, and CEU's.
