Description

We are seeking a dynamic Client Business Manager (CBM) based in St. Louis, MO, responsible for expanding our market presence. This role involves cultivating relationships with identified accounts as well as capitalizing on strategic opportunities with new clients. You are responsible for representing the vast Steelcase product portfolio in its entirety. This role is based in the St. Louis, MO market with travel primarily within this market.

What you will be doing:

Within assigned accounts, you will serve as the primary contact for Steelcase and will be responsible for understanding the client’s business issues and aspirations. Collaborating closely with our dealer partners, you will play a key role in developing and executing effective strategies for opportunity, account, and market development. This role provides opportunities to develop business inside of accounts and with the market-at-large.  

  • Develop close relationships within assigned accounts and the market-at-large, at multiple levels and across facilities, real estate, HR, procurement, and IT functions to uncover new opportunities.
  • Leverage Steelcase research and product to support organizations with workplace trends and shifts related to people and place. 
  • Foster a strong partnership with our local dealer. 
  • Engage with the regional Steelcase team to bring in additional insights and perspectives when beneficial. We have a strong team culture and collaborate well.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • This is a field sales role within a distributed team that typically requires 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.

  • Have strong relationship skills, relationship maturity and the confidence to develop relationships at all levels within key customer accounts.
  • Have dynamic communication skills including presentation, written, verbal, along with facilitating group workshops.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to receive coaching and conduct personal reflection.
  • Business acumen across industries and business issue levels, strategy development/implementation and ability to navigate decision makers.
  • Have a high level of organizational and management skills necessary for coordinating complex projects, working with teams, and executing on short and long-term goals.
  • Are inventive and enjoy coming up with new approaches to old problems.
  • Are skilled at transitioning relationships to business opportunities.
  • Ideally you will have experience selling or consulting on workplace experience with a broad exposure and understanding of the design process
  • Existing relationships within the St. Louis market is beneficial.
