The Chubb Global Learning Instructional Design manager is responsible the creation of underwriting and claim technical learning globally. In this role, you will manage a team of instructional designers to ensure project goals are established, learning objectives are drafted, appropriate learning solutions are proposed, scripts are well written and time with SMEs is maximized. The role will also be responsible for ensuring instructional design standards along with the use of technology evolves to meet the needs of today’s learners.
This position will report to the Head of the Chubb Global Learning.
Core Responsibilities
Manages a team of Instructional Designers by reviewing content and providing feedback
Meets with Learning Strategies Managers and Business Unit Sponsors to understand project requirements.
Ensures integrating blended learning solutions are utilized and promotes a consistent, repeatable learning process
Manages the design all training solutions to support technical learning for Underwriters and Claim Adjusters
Provides feedback on training proposals, objectives, and scripts
Continuously coaches and develops team members to ensure colleagues are equipped with the skills and knowledge to meet the needs of the organization
Ensures all learning solutions aligned to Chubb Global Learning Standards
Manages a multitude of global projects ensuring all key stakeholders are appropriately engaged/updated
Incorporates new training techniques to ensure that delivery methods are relevant and engaging for all employees
Assists with strategy and implementation of skills-based learning
Serves as the central point for instructional design and adult learning expertise
Works with COG and NA Learning Strategies Managers to implement various learning solutions
Ensures evaluation results are tracked, the user experience is optimized and works to measure the business impact of learning
Qualifications
Demonstrated L&D functional expertise – with a deep understanding of instructional design and adult learning theories
Proven ability to create engaging, effective instructional materials and content for a variety of audiences.
Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage and inspire a team of instructional designers.
Ability to establish solid cross-cultural working relationships and work in various time zones
Ability to develop innovative learning solutions that support business results
Strong project management skills, with experience in planning and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to manage many senior stakeholders
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
Understands global nuances and an international workforce
Strong analytical skills to evaluate, analyze, and interpret technical information
Strategic thinker: ability to overcome obstacles; takes an organized and logical approach to thinking through problems and complex issues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Collaborative team player: proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong understanding of insurance is desired
