What will you be doing?

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Director, you will work with the Center Director, teachers, and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care, according to NAEYC guidelines. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks - 12 years.
  • Ensuring that all staff members understand the objectives and expectations within each classroom.
  • Assisting the Center Director with adherence to child care licensing requirements as well as internal policies of the company.
  • Handling administrative duties within the center office.
  • Substituting as Center Director in the event of their absence.
  • Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with 2 years of work experience OR Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education with 1 year of work experience required
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Must be able to function independently within the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized
  • Ability to work within regular operating hours
  • Must meet state criteria for child care employment
