CAT Adjuster

American Modern Insurance Group is recruiting for Field Catastrophe (CAT) Adjusters to join our growing team! We have multiple openings in Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ, Dallas, TX and Houston, TX. Candidates must be located in these areas. As a CAT Adjuster, you will be working the frontlines of our business, supporting customers, in times of need and disaster. Occasionally, adjusters may handle day to day property claims when not on catastrophe deployment. Candidates applying for this position must possess the ability to travel on short notice and be prepared to work extended hours during peak periods or in response to catastrophic events.

In this role, you will:

  • Travel to catastrophe areas to evaluate, negotiate and settle property claims resulting from natural disasters in various geographic locations
  • Perform field inspection of damages to determine coverage as well as including investigation, documentation, coverage analysis, estimation development and subrogation/salvage assessment.
  • Provide guidance and support to policyholders throughout the claims process, with prompt communication and excellent attention to detail.

  • Previous property claims experience is preferred
  • Ability to scope, diagram and estimate property damages
  • Mobile home and Dwelling construction knowledge preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work/industry experience
  • A clean driving record and a valid driver's license are required
  • Ability to perform physical inspections; i.e. climb roofs, craw spaces
  • Proficiency in Symbility, Xactimate or similar estimating platform experience
  • Demonstrated negotiation, investigation, communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Industry training, coursework, certifications are preferred. (AIC, CPCU, SCLA)
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, set-up, ascend and descend ladders in excess of 40 pounds.

The base salary range anticipated for this position is $55,000 - $73,000; plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).

Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
