National Park College is currently seeking a second Career Coach for Hot Springs School District to begin August 1, 2024 with a contract length of 11 months, with an annual salary of $42,000. The position renews annually based on continued grant funding from the Arkansas Department of Education. This position provides individual support and facilitates programs and services that increase the knowledge and skills development of students to ensure career and college readiness. The career coach will work in the Hot Springs School District and will provide direct support to 8th – 12th grade students.

This position provides individual support and facilitates programs and services that increase the knowledge and skills development of students to ensure career and college readiness. The career coach will work in the Hot Springs School District and will provide direct support to 8th – 12th grade students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide early outreach to students and their parents/guardians with information regarding post-secondary opportunities
- Provide interest inventories and skills assessments to assist students in making informed career decisions
- Facilitate development of individual career plans and portfolios
- Provide information on careers, career pathways, educational requirements, job shadowing, internships, and mentoring activities
- Coordinate and execute financial aid nights and college night programs
- Connect students to support services that ease transition to postsecondary education
- Provide a continuum of career guidance to ease the transition from middle school to high school to postsecondary education or training and ultimately the workplace
- Maintain systematic and detailed records in the LEA INSIGHTS system in a timely manner that document assessment, planning, and evaluation of students’ progress
- Other duties as assigned

- Effective critical thinking and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Two years of experience working in education, social work, counseling or another related field of study
- Prolonged sitting
- Extensive walking
- Prolonged screen time
- Ability to lift 30 lbs
