Call for Applications: U.S. Institute of Peace Roster of Experts on Security Sector Governance

The Governance, Justice and Security team at the U.S. Institute of Peace is seeking qualified candidates with a range of skills and expertise on security sector governance. Apply HERE.

Introduction

The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) is a national, nonpartisan, independent institute, founded by Congress and dedicated to the proposition that a world without violent conflict is possible, practical, and essential for U.S. and global security. In conflict zones abroad, the Institute works with local partners to prevent, mitigate, and resolve violent conflict. The Institute pursues its mission by linking research, policy, training, analysis, and direct action to support those who are working to build a more peaceful, inclusive world. For more information, please visit http://www.usip.org.

Purpose of the Call for Experts

To advance its efforts, the Governance, Justice, and Security team is developing a Roster of Experts on Security Sector Governance. USIP will use this roster to identify individuals who can support the Institute’s programmatic efforts in this core thematic area.

Applicants should be available to advise, inform, and support USIP’s work, either on the ground or remotely. The scope of work and duration will depend on the exact country and issue context. Individuals deployed will be compensated according to their expertise and scope of work.

Please note that applying to join the Roster of Experts does not establish any relationship between the applicant and USIP, including employment, consultancy, and/or any other contracting relationships, and/or any direct or indirect promise to that effect. In addition, please note that any funding and/or contracting opportunities that become available and are distributed to the Roster of Experts will require a separate competitive process through which offerors would need to submit a proposal. The Roster of Experts does not serve as an initial phase of the competitive process.
