The Cable Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and providing technical solutions for cabling, communicating endpoints and responding to end user inquiries. In this role, the Technician will serve as a support function for customer concerns and issues related to computer systems.
This full-time position requires a physical presence at the worksite.
Responsibilities
Initiates and investigates service requests/problem incidents
Responds to requests and diagnose technical problems surrounding cabling implementation and repairs
Documents, tracks, and monitors issues to ensure a timely resolution
Troubleshoots technical issues and works with SMEs to resolve them
Tips, repairs and installs fiber, CAT5/6 and Coax cables
Works with System Administrators to ensure services/incidents are completed
Creates, disables and unlocks user-accounts
Provides an outstanding customer service experience in a variety of circumstances across all organizational levels
Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office
Required Qualifications/Education And Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Must be DoD 8570 certified at the IAT-Il / IAM-Il level (Minimum Security+ certification). Please refer to the website: https://public.cyber.mil/cw/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications/.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in the IT field supporting cabling functions
Must have prior experience with network cable patching and copper RJ45
Must have prior experience working with fiber network cables and UNICAM terminations
Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing, and displays a positive customer service attitude
Prior experience with cable management
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to multi-task
Prior experience with cable management
Must have and maintain a Top-Secret personnel clearance and must be eligible for a TS/SCI
