Job Description

Work with manufacturing department to obtain all materials for production of customer orders. Contact, vet, score, negotiate and purchase from vendors to ensure production receives components for on-time manufacturing and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of purchasing, sourcing, and relationship maintenance of XP supplier base for direct and component materials.
  • Process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and request for quotes to suppliers.
  • Expedite the delivery of purchased items to meet customer required delivery schedules.
  • Work diligently with Engineering department to develop mechanisms whichwill improve quality, provide realistic schedules, standardize processes and reduce costs.
  • Evaluate and develop alternative sources to ensure the smooth flow of goods and services to support the business needs.
  • Maintain metrics on performance, on time delivery, price, and quality of product.
  • Comply with XP’s purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Works closely with planning, receiving, warehouse, production, and vendors to obtain needed materials, on time.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of material purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in MS Office, SAP, MRP and ERP.
  • Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Work under minimal supervision with the demonstrated ability to establish priorities, plan workload and establish commitment for task completion.
  • Able to make decisions without hesitation and get things done timely with sense of urgency.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills required to develop positive internal and external working relationships.
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and able to deliver results under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Strong customer service, negotiating and analytical skills.
  • Prior supplier assessment experience including quality, price, and delivery performance.
