The Business Manager is responsible for various administrative and financial aspects of Dungarvin Indiana’s operations. The Business Manager is responsible for working with operations and accounting to ensure Dungarvin gets paid for services provided, that individual benefits and funds are managed appropriately, and that records are qualitative and maintained in a manner to meet auditing and regulatory requirements. The Business Manager is also expected to analyze, examine, and interpret processes and records to guide fiscal, process improvement, and other business-related decisions.

Job Description

What You Get To Do (not limited to):

  • Facilitates communication between operations and NCO accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Tracks and reports on service authorizations and service usage through Therap.
  • Works with operations and NCO accounting to identify individuals who are over-resourced, or close to being over-resourced, to ensure Medicaid eligibility is maintained so that Dungarvin can bill and get paid for services. Guides the operations team on strategies to ensure individuals maintain eligibility.
  • Has thorough understanding of Dungarvin’s consumer funds management system and provides consumer funds financial training, tracking, and assistance/support to operations.
  • Ensures individuals stay under resource limits to maintain Medicaid eligibility. Communicates with case managers, BDS, FSSA and others as appropriate to resolve eligibility issues and ensure Dungarvin gets paid for services provided.
  • Tracks redetermination dates and ensures operations personnel are informed as to when appointments are scheduled, ensures arrangements have been made to get the individual to the appointment, and then verifies the appointment occurred and the result.
  • Proactively reaches out to Medicaid offices if appointments are not scheduled for individuals who have redeterminations due. If there are any issues, reports timely to the Senior/Regional Director(s).
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) personnel to address and resolve any eligibility issues. Determines most effective means to resolve issues, which may include frequent in-person trips to FSSA and related offices.
  • Works with Area Directors, Program Directors and others to ensure consumer reimbursables are kept to a minimum and only incurred if no other options exist to meet essential needs. Problem solves with ADs, PDs and support teams to ensure individual needs are met without incurring reimbursables to the organization.
  • Has thorough knowledge of the organization’s role and responsibilities as a Representative Payee. Maintains up-to-date tracking of individuals served and information related to payee responsibilities.

Qualifications

What We Look For:

  • Preferred associates or bachelor’s level accounting or bookkeeping degree and two years of related experience
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Preferred experience working in Indiana’s IDD service delivery system, including knowledge of social security and Medicaid
  • Computer skills are essential
