Business Analyst

Position Summary: The Business Analyst will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives. This role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize user stories.
  • Conduct workshops and interviews to understand business needs and objectives.
  • Analyze and refine user stories to ensure clarity, feasibility, and alignment with business goals.
  • Create and maintain detailed requirements, including acceptance criteria.
  • Develop related documents such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workflow diagrams.
  • Use tools like Azure DevOps to track and manage information daily.
  • Work with the product owner to prioritize and groom the product backlog.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily standups.
  • Break down user stories into smaller, actionable tasks when necessary.
  • Ensure backlog items are well-defined, prioritized, and ready for development.
  • Facilitate effective communication among development teams, stakeholders, and product owners.
  • Translate business needs into actionable requirements for the technical team.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and impediments to stakeholders.
  • Define acceptance criteria and assist with creating UAT test plans.
  • Document and track UAT issues, working with development and testing teams to resolve them.
  • Participate in sprint retrospectives to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Suggest and implement Agile practices.
  • Continuously refine and update requirement templates, tools, and documentation.
  • Provide training and guidance to teams and stakeholders as needed.
  • Comprehensive user stories, refined requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritized backlog and sprint planning records.
  • Effective communication records and updates in Azure DevOps.
  • Detailed UAT test plans and issue documentation.
  • Recommendations and practices for Agile improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience with Agile planning and backlog management.
  • Proficiency in using tools like Azure DevOps for tracking and managing project information.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in conducting workshops and interviews for requirements gathering.
  • Familiarity with creating SOPs and workflow diagrams.
  • Previous experience in user acceptance testing support.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to suggest and implement process enhancements.

Compensation And Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $110,100 to $124,500 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
