Job Description

Works primarily at the ATI Regional Campus in Wooster and under general supervision, works independently and/or supervises and works with students and staff of various skill levels, performing general building maintenance, repair and custodial duties for housing facilities; supervises outside contractors as necessary; installs, repairs, replaces, and maintains building structure, plumbing and electrical equipment, building envelope, floors, and furniture; inspects buildings, grounds, and equipment, including life safety systems; performs needed duties required to maintain the complex including, but not limited to; moving furniture, parking lots, and other public areas; salts outdoor surfaces and removes snow; must be able to climb ladders and work at moderate heights; operates personnel boom and scissor lifts, subject to 24-hour emergency call; generally works weekdays 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but hours and days may vary as needed; travels to support other regional campuses and to attend departmental functions and needed training; may serve as backup to Mansfield Regional Campus; operates and maintains departmental vehicle. Must successfully pass background check and drivers check as per Student Lifes Driver Policy. Must be available 24/7 for emergencies or as operations dictate.

Qualifications

Required: Per CCS; valid drivers license.

Desired: Previous experience in residential maintenance, preferred in a University setting; experience in HVAC; 1-3 years experience performing service and preventative maintenance on 1.5 - 5 ton split air conditioning systems, natural gas forced air furnaces, and natural gas water heaters; EPA 608 Universal Certification; experience with inventory control, staff planning, employee training and development, supervision, and safety practices; excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
