Description

As an Automation Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of our automated systems used in medical device production. You will leverage your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to maintain complex instruments, design efficient workflows, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain automated solutions for specific areas of manufacturing where automation will be used, e.g., assembly lines, sterilization processes, testing equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Program and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and other industrial automation control systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance of automated equipment.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for automation systems, including control logic diagrams, electrical schematics, and operating procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest automation technologies and industry standards relevant to medical device manufacturing.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in a medical device manufacturing environment.
  • Proven high proficiency experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming, HMI configuration, and industrial automation control systems (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Productivity).
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience with Cognex vision systems, PLCs, stepper and servo motors, pneumatic systems, PID controls, as well as Ignition server software for data acquisition.
