We seek an Associate Scientist to join the Biology group and advance our core mission of accelerating small molecule drug discovery programs at Iambic Inc. This role is based on-site at our San Diego headquarter. The candidate will work closely with a cross-functional team that integrates machine learning, medicinal chemistry, analytical technology and biology to revolutionize small-molecule therapeutics design and discovery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with the Biology group/Project teams to design and develop biochemical and cell-based assays for various programs
Weekly execution of biochemical and/or cell-based assays to screen/evaluate small molecule compounds
Coordinate within Biology group and with Chemistry and Compound Management to enable efficient compound screening for different pipeline projects
Interpret and analyze scientific data
Present experimental results/updates at team meetings
Work with cross functional teams to QC/upload data in a timely manner
Contribute to cell line maintenance to support various projects
Contribute to the management of the biology laboratory
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in biochemistry, pharmacology, cell biology or other related scientific areas
0-2 years of industry experience
Hands on experience in cell biology and/or routine biological assays are required. Relevant experiences include cell culture, cell proliferation assay, cytotoxicity assay, ELISA, Western Blot, etc
Experience working with close proximity assays highly desirable, such as HTRF, nanoBRET, alphaLISA, etc
Experience working with G-protein coupled receptor assays highly desirable but not required
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Motivated to work in a cross-functional team setting
Flexibility and ability to quickly learn new skills and knowledge on the job
