Job Description Summary

We seek to hire an assistant professor with expertise in digital literacies and teacher education. We are interested in a faculty member whose teaching practice is undergirded by contemporary research in the discipline; whose work demonstrates a strong commitment to equitable teaching practices, social justice and diversity; who has an interest in and/or experience with practice-based teacher education; and who is eager to work collaboratively within the department, across departments, and within our university-school partnerships.

Responsibilities: teach undergraduate courses related to understanding and implementing digital literacies in the classroom and larger school community; advise graduate students; maintain an active research agenda through publishing and collaboratively writing grants to shape innovative programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates are required to have: 1) an earned doctorate or ABD (with completion by August 2024) in teacher education or a related field, with scholarly expertise in digital learning and literacies; 2) a minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience at the PK-12 level; and 3) potential for accomplishment in scholarship.

Preferred Qualifications

Content-area expertise, successful teaching experience, and the ability to teach methods courses in elementary literacy, elementary mathematics, and/or elementary science.

Appointment begins August 15, 2024. The salary for this position is dependent upon qualifications and is accompanied by a substantial benefits package.
