Assistant General Counsel - Global Telecoms Company

We are partnering with a leading provider in the telecommunications industry, specializing in satellite-based communication services. Their cutting-edge technology supports critical applications such as maritime connectivity, disaster recovery, and remote sensing.

They are looking to bring on an Assistant General Counsel who will focus on commercial contracting and administering their international trade compliance program. This individual will play a pivotal role in managing export and import controls and ensuring compliance with regulations across the globe.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an expert in import, export controls and international trade regulations compliance including ITAR, EAR and OFAC.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements including vendor agreements, strategic partnerships agreements, licensing agreements, and satellite capacity agreements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to structure non-standard global commercial contracts and strategic partnerships.
• Assess, classify, and manage EAR and ITAR-controlled articles and data
• Update global trade policies and procedures to address export controls

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in commercial contracting and international trade and export compliance program management
• Expertise in import, export controls and international trade regulations compliance (ITAR, EAR and OFAC)
• Prior experience in the telecommunications or satellite communications industry
• AM100 law firm experience is a plus
• Active security clearance is a plus (TS/SCI level preferred)
• JD from an accredited university
